Z-shaped bedside table with secret compartment – custom-designed accent table, raw An Cuong plywood

The Z-shaped bedside table is a custom-designed decorative table from our workshop for the bedroom: two Z-shaped plywood side panels cut from a single piece with large rounded breaks, a flat tabletop 50 x 38 cm, slightly overhanging by 8 mm like a cover, with an open space in the middle of the Z and a small horizontal tray with raised edges at both ends – a modern, bent-wood table design, compact next to the bed for a night light, books, and a glass of water. Secret compartment: the bottom shelf looks like a normal shelf, but it's actually the lid of a hidden compartment of about 6 liters (inner dimensions 37 x 33 x 5 cm) for documents, jewelry, or cash. From the front, the lid's seam is invisible; to open, hook your hand into the 8 mm overhanging edge of the lid at the back and lift – 2 pairs of magnets keep the lid secure, and it self-attracts back into place. Functionality: the tabletop is 56 cm high, level with common mattress heights (50-60 cm), so you don't have to sit up to reach from bed; the middle tray, inner dimensions 12 x 33 cm, has 4.4 cm high raised edges at both ends to keep phones, glasses, and books from falling; the bottom shelf has a 6 mm raised edge. The tabletop supports 20 kg. Construction and safety: 13 pieces of 18 mm An Cường EPA-standard plywood, natural finish, self-locking joints – panels slot into the two side panels, the two tray edges, and the bottom box wall interlocks to brace the two side panels, the tabletop slots into the top and is secured by 2 hidden countersunk hex screws under the tabletop; no glue, no adhesive. All corners are rounded (horizontal R20, floor R12), no finger traps; the table is light, so wall anchoring is mandatory (anchors not included, sold separately; pilot holes are pre-drilled). Dimensions 50 x 38 x 56 cm, weighs approximately 10 kg, ships flat in 1 package; one person can assemble in about 15 minutes with the included hex key.
