Product description
The goat-shaped fruit basket is a custom design from our workshop to welcome the Year of the Goat: a wooden goat with curved horns, droopy ears, and a beard stands at the front of the basket, 7 slender, curved wooden slats fan out like a fan to form an airy boat-shaped bowl, and the back of the basket has a handle with a tail tuft – display Tet fruits on your tea table or dining table, the basket serves as both a container and a decorative item to welcome the Year of the Goat.
Functionality: the basket's interior is 30 cm long, 20 cm wide at the center, and 8 cm deep – enough for one pomelo, one bunch of bananas laid lengthwise, and oranges, mandarins, and apples around; the curved slats allow fruits to breathe, preventing condensation. The widest gap between slats is 2.9 cm at the center of the basket, narrowing towards both ends: medium and large fruits will not fall through; grapes and longans should be kept in bunches. Lift the basket with two hands: one hand gripping the goat's neck below the horns, one hand through the handle hole at the tail; the basket can hold approximately 5 kg of fruit.
Construction: 11 pieces of 18 mm high-quality standard EPA-compliant plywood with a natural finish, CNC cut from flat boards – the curved slats are cut, not bent; 7 slats are mortised invisibly into the goat's face and tail handle, two crescent-shaped feet slot into the bottom slats; only 4 countersunk hex screws (two screws on the goat's face are precisely where the nostrils are), no glue, no adhesive, no drilling required. The goat's eyes are two small Ø8 through-cut holes; the bottom of the basket is 2.7 cm from the tabletop, with 4 felt pads under the feet.
Usage notes: the wood has a natural finish, so only place dry fruits, wipe with a dry cloth or a well-wrung damp cloth, do not soak in water; the basket is not a toy, do not let small children put their hands into the slat gaps or climb or sit on the basket. Dimensions 33.2 x 27.3 x 25.1 cm, shipped flat in 1 package; one person can assemble it in about 10 minutes using the included hex key.
